Bei Verwendung eines Hammer- oder Pressluftbohrers

When using a hammer or pneumatic drill

The prior and correct cleaning of the drill hole is essential when using injection mortar and ensures that the performance of the injection mortar can be guaranteed. Neglecting proper borehole cleaning can lead to significant performance reductions . Which cleaning process is approved for which product can be found in the ETA. This can be found in the ETA in Annex Part B. When cleaning the borehole, gloves, protective goggles and a face mask should be worn to protect against the dust.

lead to significant performance reductions...

When using a hammer (HD) or pneumatic drill (CD) there are 3 main cleaning steps to consider:

  1. blow out
  2. brush out
  3. blow out

1.Blow out

Blow out can be done with a manual hand pump (blow-out pump) or a compressed air gun. When blowing out, the hose of the hand pump or the lance of the compressed air gun is inserted to the bottom of the drill hole (in the case of concrete or solid brick) or to the effective setting depth (perforated brick). The hole is then blown out 2 or 4 times (depending on the product and substrate material). This means using the hand pump twice or triggering the air gun twice.

2. Brush out

Brushing is done either manually with a hand brush or a brush mounted on a cordless screwdriver. When brushing out, the brush is inserted into the borehole in a rotating motion up to the bottom of the borehole or the effective setting depth and then rotated out of the borehole again. This process is repeated 2 or 4 times (depending on the product and substrate material), see ETA Annex Part B.

3. Blow out

repeating the first step.
