Was ist ein Dichtstoff?

Dichtstoffe sind Werkstoffe zum Abdichten von Fugen, Spalten, Löchern oder ähnlichem. Die meist pastösen Materialien haften an den Oberflächen der Fügematerialien (Adhäsionskraft) und behalten aber ihre Dauerelastizität (flexible Struktur). Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaft werden Dichtstoffe auch den Klebstoffen zugeordnet. Im Bauwesen werden Dichtstoffe dort eingesetzt wo Materialien vor Wasser, Luft, Schmutz, Staub, Rauch oder weiteren Einflüssen zu schützen sind.
